    Seasonal Illness
Dear Parents We are experiencing large numbers of pupil absence due to seasonal coughs and colds. We completely understand the worries and difficulties families are experiencing due to the current climate, the frustrations of trying to get tests and the impact of potential extended periods of absence. The guidance is clear that an individual should only seek a test if they have one or more of the main COVID symptoms – a high temperature; a new, continuous cough and/or a loss or change to sense of smell or taste. The guidance is also clear that if an individual has one or more of those symptoms then they must isolate (stay at home and don’t have any visitors) and get a test as soon as possible. The NHS has provided explanations for each of the main symptoms, which can be found via this link https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/. Attached is a simple flow chart which hopefully will help you in deciding whether or not to send your child into school if they are feeling unwell. Kind Regards
