First Admissions

Choosing a school is an important decision. We welcome and encourage parents of prospective pupils to visit the school in November, with or without their child, to look around and meet the teachers and children before applying for admission.

Child Care Provision for Three Year Olds

Working in partnership with Love Lane Pre-School we can offer child care provision for three year olds in a school setting from 8:00am to 6:00pm, five days a week. This not only gives you affordable child care but also an excellent start to your child's early years education.  If you do not qualify for government funding we can provide this provision for £4.00 per hour.    For further information please see our Child Care Provision page or contact the school office on 01635 40971.

Admission to the Foundation Stage is in September of the academic year in which your child becomes five. West Berkshire Council handles all our applications for admissions.

We can admit up to 14 children into each year group. If there are more children applying than there are places available, preference will be given according to the criteria laid down by the education authority. Full information explaining the process is available on line at the West Berkshire Council website: West Berks Primary Admissions

You will be able to apply for a school place from the beginning of November each year online or by post. A refusal of admission is subject to a right of appeal.

Foundation Stage

The foundation stage curriculum concentrates on the skills and experiences children need to provide a solid base for later learning . All 'settings' follow the same curriculum which is rooted in activity and experiences. It is organised into areas of learning rather than traditional subjects. More information about the curriculum is available from school. We have a designated number of 14 children in each year group so the children get plenty of attention.

Other Admissions
If you are moving into the area, please contact us by telephone to enquire if we have space in your child's year group. Parents are welcome to visit by appointment with or without their child before making an application for admission. The application process is through West Berkshire Council.
