School Sports Funding

In 2013, the government allocated a sum of money to primary schools known as the Primary Schools Sports Grant. The purpose of this grant is to:

‘fund improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, so that they develop healthy lifestyles’ (PE and Sports – general conditions of grant allocations 2013 – 2104, DfE)

Schools can choose how they use the funding, please see below our yearly reports which set out our use of the funding:

Primary PE Sports Grant Report 2014 – 2015

Our objectives:

  • Improve the quality and breadth of PE and sports provision at the school;
  • Increase the number of children participating in a range of sporting opportunities both within and after school, especially at KS1;
  • Provide specialist teaching in a variety of sports to take children’s performance in sport to a high level;
  • Develop a love of sport and physical activity leading to a sporting habit for life;
  • Nurture and develop talent.
